SBMK Project Photography

The SBMK sample set is in almost 70 places, spread all over the world. In Dutch and Belgian museums, as well as in the Yale University Art Gallery, The Metropolitan, the Geneva Library, the National Film Archive in Poland, museums in Hong Kong and Australia. The Getty even ordered three; for different departments.

The SBMK Photography Project has been set up together with the Cultural Heritage Agency and the University of Amsterdam for museum photo collections. Photo restorer Clara von Waldthausen, a trainer within the project, has used her contacts in the Netherlands, Germany and the US to complete the list of required samples. The result is a sample set that enables conservators to identify photographs.

From Wilcovak printstudio, a large quantity of 15 different types of pigment prints, including ChromaLuxe® and Diasec®, as well as carriers, were supplied for the set.
