Maarten Vromans

Maarten Vromans (1975, Rucphen) photographs both the city and the landscape. With the rhythmic photography of his series ‘Urban Erosion’, he continuously investigates the influence that elements such as people, nature and weather have on urban development in (mainly) Dutch cities. With his series ‘Lucky Shots’ and ‘Go West’, made during train journeys in the Netherlands and the United States, he is investigating whether he can make beautiful images as a photographer if he leaves everything to chance.’

Vromans’ work has been published in ‘New Dutch Photography Talent 2016’, was shown at PAN Amsterdam and KunstRai and during solo and group exhibitions at home and abroad. In 2018 he published a photo book of his series ‘Lucky Shots’. He is represented by Zerp Galerie in Rotterdam.”
